Can a pair of shoes convert your life? I may have made that seminar from time to time - to myself and to my husband! At the very least, a trendy new pair can breathe life into a excellent ensemble or at once update an outfit. Shoes are an essential element of your wardrobe, and investing in a few new styles each season is a fun way to keep current. So put away the flip-flops and check out what's new in fall shoes!

What's in store for our feet this season? No more gloom and doom - the somber styles of the last combine of years are development way for looks that are glamorous and chic. Fun is back in fashion, and what are more fun than shoes?

Fashion Shoes

One of the biggest trends on the fall runways is booties. Half boots, half shoes, ankle boots look great with a variety of outfits. Cropped or long trousers, even skirts and dresses look approved with booties. Think you're no longer a slave to the pedicure? Think again! Lots of styles have open or peep toes, so keep 'em polished. "Cage" style ankle boots move the sandal look into fall, and are especially glamorous and versatile in a nude or soft beige. For a girly look, lots of embellishments showed up on runways as well - bows, glitter, tassels and even fringe on spindly heels. Other styles are more rugged. Broken-in leather, distressed suede and thick heels are hiking-boot inspired. I love the 80's desert boot look with wooden heels! Fabulous.

High boots are also back - they never seem to unmistakably go away, but heel heights and styles convert year-to-year! Last fall saw the over-the-knee trend unmistakably take off, and they're still colse to for this fall. For a more excellent look, knee boots are always stylish. You can find them in gorgeous colours this year; gold, olives, burgundy and grey are a nice departure from basic brown and black. There are lots of flat styles to choose from but the major trend this fall is knee boots with a stiletto heel. Worn over skinny jeans, or with a skirt suit or dress they look amazing.

Speaking of stilettos, a skinny-heeled pair of pumps is always a fashion staple. So of course, they're back in this variety of fall shoes as well. What make them a standout this season are their fabrics. Satin, lace, patent leather or delicate suede heels can be the most arresting part of an outfit! Jewel-toned satin heels look glamorous with skinny jeans and structured trousers, and ladylike with short full skirts.

It's nice to see a nod to relax though! Platforms and wedges are here to stay, and they make wearing skyscraper heels a cinch. This fall's platforms are not as chunky as some summer styles, and look perfect with skirts, dresses and suits. Leather flats are kind to your feet. They're also chic and cute - especially in a arresting colour or in shiny patent leather.

Have fun with fall shoes, and only buy what you love. Fashions and trends change, but a pair you truly love to wear will always have a place in your wardrobe.
